PTFE lined rubber expansion joints combine the corrosion resistance of an integral PTFE liner with the strength of an elastomer for pressure resistance for use in highly corrosive applications. These expansion joints are available in various configurations, types and elastomeric outer materials. They are manufactured using tire cord industry technology combining woven polyester tie cord into a fabric matrix, which is then bonded with an elastomer reinforced with wire and bonded to a PTFE liner.
